Privacy Policy

This policy explains what information BetterMoneyTools.com collects, how we use it, and the choices you have. We've kept it in plain English wherever possible.

Last updated: May 3, 2026

1. Who we are

BetterMoneyTools.com ("we", "us", "our") operates the website at https://bettermoneytools.com, which provides free personal-finance calculators and educational articles. For privacy-related questions, contact us at info@bettermoneytools.com.

2. Information we collect

BetterMoneyTools.com collects only the information needed to operate the site:

  • Information you enter into calculators. All calculator inputs (income, debts, balances, etc.) are processed entirely in your browser. We do not transmit, store, or have access to those numbers.
  • Locally stored snapshots. If you choose to save a snapshot, it is written to your browser's local storage on your own device. We never see it.
  • Server-log data. Like most websites, our hosting provider records standard log information (IP address, browser type, pages visited, referring URL, timestamp) for security and performance.
  • Cookies and similar technologies. See section 4 below.
  • Information you voluntarily submit. When you email us or use the contact form, we receive whatever you choose to send (name, email, message).

3. How we use information

  • To operate, maintain, and improve the website and calculators.
  • To respond to questions, feedback, and support requests.
  • To monitor for security threats, abuse, and technical errors.
  • To display relevant advertising through third-party ad networks (see section 5).
  • To comply with legal obligations.

We do not sell your personal information. We do not build cross-site behavioral profiles ourselves.

4. Cookies

BetterMoneyTools.com uses cookies and similar storage technologies (such as localStorage) for the following purposes:

  • Strictly necessary. Remembering UI state (e.g., which calculator tab you last used) so the site works smoothly.
  • Analytics. We may use privacy-respecting analytics tools to understand which pages are popular and how the site is performing in aggregate.
  • Advertising. Third-party ad partners — including Google — may set cookies to serve and measure ads. See sections 5 and 6 for details and your choices.

You can disable or delete cookies at any time through your browser settings. Doing so may affect site functionality and the relevance of ads you see, but the calculators will still work.

5. Third-party vendors and advertising

BetterMoneyTools.com is supported in part by display advertising. We work with third-party advertising vendors, including but not limited to:

  • Google AdSense and the Google advertising network
  • Other independent advertising networks and ad-measurement partners
  • Affiliate networks for clearly labeled product recommendations

These third parties may use cookies, web beacons, device identifiers, and similar technologies to collect or receive information about your visit to BetterMoneyTools.com and other websites, and use that information to provide measurement services and deliver ads that are more relevant to you.

6. Google advertising cookies

Specifically with respect to Google's advertising services:

  • Google, as a third-party vendor, uses cookies to serve ads on BetterMoneyTools.com.
  • Google's use of advertising cookies enables it and its partners to serve ads to users based on their visit to this site and/or other sites on the Internet.
  • Users may opt out of personalized advertising by visiting Google Ads Settings.
  • Users may also opt out of a third-party vendor's use of cookies for personalized advertising by visiting www.aboutads.info or www.networkadvertising.org/choices.

For users in the European Economic Area, the United Kingdom, and Switzerland, Google and its certified partners participate in the IAB Transparency & Consent Framework. Where required, a consent banner will collect your choices before non-essential cookies are placed.

7. Data usage and AdSense

When you visit BetterMoneyTools.com, the following may occur as part of serving AdSense and other advertising:

  • Third-party advertising vendors may collect information including your IP address, browser type, the pages you visit on this site, and time/date of access.
  • That information may be used to deliver advertising about goods and services of interest to you, and to measure the effectiveness of advertising.
  • Information collected by these advertising partners is governed by their own privacy policies, including Google's advertising privacy policy.
